Margaret Sanger

- She was the Founder of Planned Parenthood.
- In 1916 she opened the first birth control clinic in the U.S.
- Sanger fled from U.S to England because she was facing a 5 year jail sentence because she was campaigned for Women's Rights for Birth Control.
- Sanger, Ethel (Sanger's sister),and her staff, were arrested during a raid of the Brooklyn clinic nine days after it opened.
- Planned Parenthood was first called Birth Control Clinical Research Bureau.
- She established the International Planned Parenthood Federation in 1952.
- She died a year later on September 6, 1966, in a nursing home in Tucson, Arizona.
